Job description

The Store Keeper is responsible for managing inventory, handling the receipt and issuance of crane spare parts, tools, and consumables, and ensuring the proper organization and tracking of materials related to crane operations. This role is crucial in maintaining stock accuracy and supporting timely crane servicing, erection, and dismantling activities.

  • Inventory Management:
    Receive, inspect, and record all incoming crane spare parts and consumables (e.g., electrical components, slewing units, motors, brakes, limit switches).
    Maintain updated records of inventory in the system (ERP or manual logbooks).
    Ensure accurate binning, labeling, and location tracking of parts.
  • Issuance & Replenishment:
    Issue materials and tools to technicians and site teams based on job requests or work orders.
    Monitor stock levels and notify supervisors when reordering is needed.
  • Documentation & System Updates:
    Maintain daily records of goods received and issued.
    Update stock movement and report discrepancies or damaged items.
    Prepare GRNs (Goods Received Notes), MRNs (Material Request Notes), and other warehouse documentation.
  • Storage & Organization:
    Ensure proper storage conditions for electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic crane parts.
    Implement and maintain 5S and safe warehouse practices.
  • Coordination:
    Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and technical teams for part identification and deliveries.
    Support dispatch and delivery arrangements for parts required at remote job sites.
  • Tool & Asset Control:
    Track usage and condition of hand tools, lifting gear, testing instruments, and PPE.
    Ensure return and maintenance of tools issued to field staff.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Warehouse Management (preferred).
  • 2–4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction equipment or cranes industry.
  • Good understanding of mechanical/electrical parts related to tower or mobile cranes.
