Operational
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
- Develop business strategies to increase the customer base, expand store traffic, and optimize profitability.
- Complete store administration and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain excellent store condition and visual merchandising standards as per the Retail Department SOP.
- Ensure adherence to visual merchandising guidelines and standards, providing input to the store visual merchandiser.
- Report on buying trends, customer needs, and profits.
- Communicate innovative ideas to increase market share.
- Establish rapport with potential and current customers to identify current and future customer requirements.
- Maintain inventories and communicate shortages with the Central or Regional Distribution Center to ensure merchandise availability.
- Implement security systems to secure merchandise, inspect damages, and ensure adjustments as per SOPs.
- Provide a safe and clean store environment to protect employees and customers.
- Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control.
- Regularly tour the sales floor to identify and resolve staff and customer issues.
- Stay aware of market trends, upcoming customer initiatives, and competitors' performance.
- Achieve sales targets and contribute to setting them.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure adherence to shopping standards and take corrective actions.
- Manage store budgets and control expenditures within approved limits.
- Complete store administration tasks according to company procedures on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Drive initiatives to improve customer relationships and loyalty.
People Management
- Schedule and assign employees to meet store operational requirements, following up on work results.
- Train, motivate, mentor, and provide feedback to sales staff to meet sales goals.
- Maintain and orient store staff, providing ongoing training.
- Coach, counsel, and discipline employees; conduct fair performance appraisals.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the team to maximize talent and performance, achieving business objectives.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Retail Operations, or a related field is required.
Experience and Skills
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, including retail analysis.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of in-store operations.
- Business acumen.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years' experience as a Store Manager handling a large department.
