Job summary

Fairmont Fujairah Beach Resort seeks a dedicated Steward to uphold luxury service standards and supervise the Stewarding team in Dibba Al Fujairah.

You will assist in training, manage daily pot-wash and dish-wash tasks, ensure cleanliness, and enforce Health & Safety guidelines, reporting issues to management. The role requires reliability, teamwork, and a guest-centric approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in stewarding or kitchen support preferred.

• Proficient with Microsoft Windows applications.
• Degree in a related discipline is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Stewards to maintain high standards.

• Maintain back-of-house areas and cleaning schedules.
• Follow Health, Hygiene and Safety guidelines.
• Report faults or equipment issues to management.
• Ensure PPE is used and safety guidelines followed.
• Operate machinery safely according to Safety Manual.
• Assist in locating, moving, and storing equipment.
• Assist in stock-takes of equipment and items.
• Ensure adherence to Health, Safety and Hygiene regulations.
• Carry out other tasks as assigned by hotel management.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise the Stewards ensuring high standards
• Support the Team Members in training and development
• Coordinate the daily pot-wash and dish wash responsibilities
• Ensure Back of House areas are maintained to the highest cleanliness standards and cleaning schedules are followed and completed
• Observe Health, Hygiene and Safety guidelines when handling hazardous substances and comply with all aspects of Health and Safety requirements
• Report faults, misused or damaged equipment issues to the Managers, Executive Chef, and/or Chief Engineering
• Ensure the correct PPE is in place and guidelines are adhered to
• Ensure machinery is operated properly, efficiently, safely and in accordance with the hotel's Health and Safety Manual
• Assist in the location, movement and storage of operational equipment
• Assist in the stock take of equipment and other items as required
• Ensure team members adhere to all Health and Safety and Hygiene Regulations
• Carry out any other reasonable task set by the Hotel's Management

Qualifications

Your Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a Stewarding department preferred
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications preferred
• University/College degree in a related discipline an asset
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
