The Position

To perform and execute back-of-the-house cleaning and sanitation duties, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation at all times.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Report for duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform and name badges at all times.
  2. Perform duties as assigned by the Stewarding Supervisor, Assistant Chief Steward, and Chief Steward.
  3. Perform general cleaning duties as assigned by the Stewarding Supervisor in accordance with established standards and schedules.
  4. Ensure the safe, correct, and economical use of stewarding equipment, including dishwashing machines, glass washing machines, pot washing machines, floor cleaning machines, silver burnishing machines, and transportation vehicles.
  5. Clean, wash, and polish dishes and other operating equipment in food and beverage outlets according to hygiene standards.
  6. Clean, wash pots, pans, and kitchen utensils according to hygiene standards.
  7. Count, sort, and prepare operating equipment for banquet functions.
  8. Maintain high standards for all operating and kitchen equipment, minimizing breakage.
  9. Ensure all machinery and equipment are clean and sanitized.
  10. Carry out other duties as assigned.
  11. Clean all service and back-of-house areas as directed.
  12. Keep kitchen areas clean, organized, and tidy at all times.
  13. Remove food waste and garbage periodically or as necessary.
  14. Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.
  15. Wear prescribed uniforms that are clean, pressed, and in good condition; wear name badges at all times.
  16. Be security-conscious and report suspicious circumstances.
  17. Maintain a safe, hygienic departmental environment and report damages.
  18. Communicate positively with colleagues and superiors for effective teamwork.
  19. Attend meetings, briefings, and training sessions beneficial for personal and departmental growth.
  20. Maintain good relationships with colleagues and other departments.
  21. Respond to changes in departmental functions as dictated by industry, company, and management.
