• Recognized medical degree and relevant specialist qualifications.
• Experience in obesity medicine, metabolic health, endocrinology, internal medicine, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical assessments including weight history and comorbidities.
• Evaluate obesity-related conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, sleep disorders.
• Develop individualized weight-management plans with nutrition, activity, behavioral strategies and medications.
• Assess suitability for anti-obesity medications per clinical guidance and prescribing practices.
• Monitor treatment response, adverse effects, and metabolic health changes.
• Coordinate referrals to dietitians, psychologists, endocrinologists and bariatric specialists.

Overview

A premium private hospital in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Staff Physician specializing in Obesity Medicine to provide comprehensive evidence-based assessment and management for patients with obesity and related metabolic conditions The physician will develop individualized weight-management plans monitor treatment outcomes and coordinate care with nutrition endocrinology behavioral health and other relevant specialists

Clinical Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive medical assessments including weight history metabolic risk and relevant comorbidities Evaluate patients for obesity-related conditions such as type 2 diabetes hypertension dyslipidemia and sleep-related disorders Develop individualized management plans incorporating nutrition physical activity behavioral strategies and appropriate medical treatment Assess suitability for anti-obesity medication in accordance with clinical guidance and approved prescribing practices Monitor treatment response potential side effects and changes in metabolic health Coordinate referrals to dietitians psychologists endocrinologists bariatric specialists and other relevant professionals Educate patients on sustainable lifestyle changes and long-term weight management Maintain accurate clinical records and provide structured follow-up Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and quality-improvement initiatives

Qualifications
