Role Overview

Consultant Endocrinologist - Metabolic Care in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a specialised hospital and health‑care position for an experienced physician with strong expertise in diabetes, thyroid disease, adrenal disorders, pituitary conditions, obesity, osteoporosis, and complex metabolic care. The role requires advanced clinical judgement, interpretation of hormonal and metabolic investigations, and the ability to guide patients through chronic disease management, lifestyle modification, treatment adherence, and modern diabetes technologies. It is a full‑time position with a salary range of 55,000–75,000 AED.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage endocrine disorders, including diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, osteoporosis, obesity, and metabolic conditions.
• Conduct comprehensive endocrine evaluations using medical history, physical examination, hormonal studies, metabolic investigations, imaging reports, and patient risk factors.
• Develop individualized treatment and long‑term management plans based on diagnosis, disease severity, patient lifestyle, medication response, and clinical goals.
• Manage inpatient and outpatient endocrinology consultations for acute, chronic, and complex presentations.
• Provide advanced diabetes care, including insulin therapy, medication optimisation, continuous glucose monitoring systems, lifestyle counselling, and complication prevention.
• Support patients with obesity medicine, metabolic syndrome, osteoporosis risk, thyroid dysfunction, adrenal imbalance, and pituitary‑related conditions.
• Collaborate with internal medicine physicians, nephrologists, cardiologists, dietitians, bariatric teams, diabetes educators, nurses, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families on disease prevention, medication use, glucose monitoring, nutrition, lifestyle changes, follow‑up care, and long‑term treatment adherence.
• Maintain accurate consultation notes, treatment plans, investigation summaries, medication records, and follow‑up documentation.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research activity, case reviews, and continuing medical education programmes.
• Follow Dubai Health Authority (DHA) requirements, patient safety standards, infection control policies, confidentiality rules, and evidence‑based clinical practice.

Ideal Profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognised institution.
• Board certification, fellowship, or equivalent specialist qualification in Endocrinology.
• Active DHA Consultant License or eligibility for Dubai Health Authority consultant licensure.
• Minimum 5–7 years of post‑board consultant experience in Endocrinology within a reputed tertiary care hospital, academic hospital, or specialty clinic.
• Strong expertise in diabetes management, thyroid disease, adrenal conditions, pituitary disorders, obesity medicine, osteoporosis, and metabolic care.
• Experience with advanced diabetes technologies, insulin therapy, continuous glucose monitoring, and insulin pump therapy is preferred.
• Exposure to obesity medicine, metabolic disorders, academic work, or research activity is an advantage.
• Arabic speaking skills are preferred.
• Excellent communication, analytical thinking, patient counselling, clinical documentation, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
