Role Context The Specialist Endocrinologist will provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient endocrine care for adults with hormonal, metabolic, and chronic endocrine conditions. The position requires accurate diagnostic interpretation, individualized medication management, lifestyle intervention, and long-term monitoring of patients with complex metabolic disease. By coordinating closely with other medical specialties, the endocrinologist will help improve disease control, reduce complications, and support sustainable improvements in patient health.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients presenting with suspected or established endocrine and metabolic disorders.
• Diagnose and manage type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
• Develop individualized diabetes treatment plans based on glycemic control, comorbidities, lifestyle, and treatment response.
• Monitor HbA1c, glucose trends, renal function, lipid profiles, and other relevant metabolic parameters.
• Adjust insulin, oral therapies, and other diabetes medications according to clinical requirements.
• Evaluate and manage thyroid disorders including hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroiditis, and thyroid nodules.
• Interpret thyroid function tests and relevant imaging or diagnostic investigations.
• Manage obesity and associated metabolic complications using evidence-based treatment strategies.
• Assess and treat osteoporosis and other metabolic bone conditions.
• Diagnose abnormalities involving calcium, phosphate, vitamin D, and bone metabolism.
• Evaluate adrenal disorders including adrenal insufficiency and hormone excess syndromes.
• Diagnose and manage pituitary disorders affecting endocrine function.
• Investigate unexplained hormonal abnormalities using appropriate laboratory and imaging studies.
• Interpret endocrine laboratory testing and integrate findings into clinical management plans.
• Develop personalized treatment pathways for chronic endocrine diseases requiring long-term follow-up.
• Monitor medication efficacy, adverse effects, treatment adherence, and disease progression.
• Identify patients at risk of diabetes-related complications and coordinate appropriate screening.
• Collaborate with cardiology, nephrology, ophthalmology, nutrition, bariatric, and other relevant specialties.
• Work closely with dietitians and diabetes educators to strengthen lifestyle and self-management programs.
• Educate patients about nutrition, physical activity, medication adherence, weight management, and preventive care.
