Patient Care: Provide direct patient care and coordinate care-related activities using the nursing process. Focus on adult and geriatric populations.
Diagnostic Testing: Perform Point-of-Care (POC) testing for HbA1C and Ketone levels, contributing to immediate and real-time diagnostic information.
Testing Procedures: Conduct quick and efficient tests to assess HbA1C and Ketone levels, ensuring prompt evaluation and effective care.
Care Coordination: Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, ensuring age-appropriate, patient-centered care.
Critical Care Assessment: Perform continuous critical care assessments to identify physical and psychological needs of patients and families.
Documentation & Records: Document all assessments, interventions, and relevant data according to hospital standards.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care and meet patient needs.
Transfer Plans: Initiate and manage appropriate transfer plans based on patient requirements.
Safety & Infection Control: Maintain a safe environment, adhere to infection control protocols, and ensure proper handling and administration of medications.
Competency & Education: Maintain clinical competency and participate in ongoing educational activities, including completing mandatory certifications and unit-based Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (minimum 3 years full-time course duration) or equivalent qualification.
Registered Nurse license from countries such as Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, or Australia. UAE nationals may be exempt from experience requirements.
Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or other relevant certifications.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of postgraduate experience in a Diabetic/Endocrine setting.
Knowledge and skills in patient assessment and providing age-appropriate care.
Experience with Point-of-Care testing for HbA1C and Ketone levels.
Additional Skills:
Strong communication, coordination, and planning abilities.
Proficiency in performing critical care assessments and recognizing potential issues early.
Experience in providing education and support to patients and families.
