Job summary

SEHA - Abu Dhabi Health Services Co. in Abu Dhabi seeks a skilled Registered Nurse to join the Cardiac ICU team. You will deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients, monitor status, administer meds, and support invasive monitoring and ventilatory care.

The role requires 2–5 years of CICU experience, DOH license eligibility, and mandatory BLS and ACLS certification. You will collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of recent experience in a Cardiac ICU/CCU or critical care setting.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac critical care nursing practices and patient assessment.
• Cardiac monitoring and ECG interpretation proficiency required.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients in the CICU.


• Perform thorough patient assessments and continuously monitor clinical status.


• Administer medications, intravenous therapies, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.


• Monitor and interpret ECGs, cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic parameters, and other critical care indicators.


• Care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, invasive monitoring devices, and advanced cardiac support.


• Respond promptly to cardiac emergencies, code blue situations, and patient deterioration.


• Assist physicians during bedside procedures and emergency interventions.


• Provide pre- and post-procedural care for cardiac interventions and surgeries.

Patient Safety & Quality

• Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards.


• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).


• Follow medication safety protocols and patient identification procedures.


• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.


• Report incidents, adverse events, and clinical concerns according to organizational policies.


• Collaborate effectively with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.


• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and recovery processes.


• Participate actively in multidisciplinary rounds and clinical handovers.


• Support patient and family-centered care initiatives.

Professional Development

• Maintain current nursing knowledge and competencies in critical care and cardiac nursing.


• Attend mandatory training, continuing education programs, and competency assessments.


• Mentor and assist newly hired nurses and students as required.


• Participate in departmental audits, accreditation activities, and clinical improvement programs.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent recognized nursing qualification.

Experience

• 2-5 years of recent experience in a Cardiac ICU, ICU, Coronary Care Unit (CCU), or Critical Care setting.


• Experience in managing critically ill cardiac patients is highly preferred.


• Experience with ventilators, invasive monitoring, and advanced cardiac life support is desirable.

Licensure

• Valid DOH License as Registered Nurse OR DOH Eligibility Letter (mandatory).


• Eligibility to practice nursing in Abu Dhabi in accordance with Department of Health (DOH) regulations.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (mandatory).


• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (mandatory).


• Critical Care Nursing certification (preferred).


• Strong knowledge of cardiac critical care nursing practices.


• Ability to recognize and respond to cardiac emergencies.


• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and ECG interpretation.
