DESCRIPTION

The Senior Vendor Manager position is for a passionate customer and category advocate within Amazon, with proven analytical capabilities and project management skills, great attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of driving category growth and be an effective leader and communicator when working with Amazon UAE's key partners and vendors, as well as internal colleagues and cross-functional leaders. The candidate should be a self-starter with a passion for retail, high flexibility, and strong commitment.

A successful SVM will be able to:

  1. Act as the 'business owner' for assigned categories: possess a comprehensive understanding of internal and external factors impacting the business, including forecasting, monitoring, reporting, and driving projects and promotions to meet business objectives.
  2. Understand industry trends: stay informed about seasonality, business trends, and industry developments, including competitor analysis.
  3. Maximize profitability and expansion: identify opportunities to grow Amazon's business and expand product selection.
  4. Understand customer needs: leverage knowledge of customer preferences to advocate for site features that enhance the shopping experience.
  5. Manage vendor relationships: oversee supplier contracts, day-to-day relations, and negotiate marketing funds.
  6. Develop business and project plans: for new opportunities, including merchandising and pricing strategies.
  7. Coordinate cross-functional teams: communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders under tight deadlines.
  8. Conduct financial analysis: evaluate business opportunities to meet or exceed revenue and profitability goals.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of experience with Excel
  • 5+ years in account management, project or program management, or buying
  • Experience using data to influence business decisions
  • Experience fostering internal cross-team collaboration
  • Business analysis and P&L management experience
  • MBA degree
  • Experience negotiating with stakeholders
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership

  • Experience aligning cross-functional teams
