A leading company in the region is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join their Design System team in Dubai. The role involves championing design systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving the evolution of their design system, Marshmallow. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio and experience in creating scalable systems that enhance user experiences.

As a Product Designer, you’ll join our passionate, fast-paced Design System team and help create a modular, inclusive system of patterns and guidelines which support all talabat’s customer-facing products (web / mobile). The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating and maintaining design systems, and helping product designers apply them across talabat apps and platforms to create consistently delightful user experiences. Additionally, you’ll be a part of interesting product-based projects when needed.
We're looking for a Senior Product Designer – Design Systems to join our growing Design Experience group in Dubai. You’ll help drive the evolution of Marshmallow, talabat’s cross-platform design system, enabling consistency, accessibility, personalization, and speed across all our app.
As a Senior Product Designer on the Design System team, you’ll lead initiatives independently, think systemically, and scale your impact beyond your immediate team by collaborating closely with engineers, designers, product managers, and brand experts. This is a unique opportunity for a designer who thrives in fast-paced, cross-functional environments and knows how to build not just components, but scalable systems.
What’s On Your Plate?
Design system evolution : Lead the expansion and refinement of our component library, foundations, tokens, and interaction patterns across mobile
Figma mastery & documentation : Manage our libraries with precision, structure component variants and slots, delivering high-quality documentation through Zeroheight
Systems thinking : Build flexible, scalable systems that enable rapid personalization, stateful behaviors (via SDUI), and consistent handoffs. Run design audits, usability tests, and hands-on workshops to identify gaps and improve our design system health score
Cross-functional collaboration : Work hand-in-hand with engineers, product designers, brand, and accessibility teams to shape and deliver scalable UI and system adoption. You’re a champion when it comes to understanding our squads’ needs, scaling up for them, as well as hosting design system office hours to support them to raise the bar
Governance and adoption : Define contribution processes, support squads in adoption, and lead design audits to raise system health and consistency
Accessibility by default : Champion inclusive design, embedding semantic labels, color contrast, and responsive interactions from the ground up
Strategic execution : Contribute to the roadmap, help drive rollout strategies, and align your work with OKRs and business priorities
Communication & storytelling : Present your work confidently, influence decisions across functions, and become a visible advocate for design systems.
Squads empowerment and scalability : Drive contribution processes and support external contributors (product designers, engineers) in shaping the system
Qualifications
What Did We Order?
Preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts / Design / Marketing / Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia graphics
3+ years of experience as a product designer, with at least 2+ year focused on design systems (as a contributor or dedicated DS designer)
Strong portfolio showcasing system thinking, complex component work, and design that scales
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, you know how to explain your decisions, build buy-in, and bring people along the journey
Proven ability to work autonomously in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
Experience working in multinational or cross-cultural teams; you’re adaptable, curious, and thrive in diversity
Strategic mindset : you balance business goals, technical feasibility, and design quality
Proficient in Figma (and Figma libraries), familiar with atomic design, tokens, slots, theming, and documentation workflows
Comfortable partnering with engineers, understanding constraints and bringing components to life in code
Working knowledge of accessibility, motion principles, and responsive design
Experience with accessibility (following WCAG standards and working previously with screen readers semantic labels)
Understanding of design system governance and success metrics
