Job description

The Senior Procurement Officer will oversee purchasing activities and ensure that purchased items are both cost-efficient and of high quality. The responsibilities include maintaining positive supplier relations, evaluating supply options, approving purchases, and maintaining accurate records.

As a Senior Procurement Officer, you should have an analytical mind and keep up with product and service trends. The role requires good negotiation skills and ensuring all purchases comply with company standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct all activities of the purchasing department competently.
  • Prepare plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
  • Follow and enforce the company's procurement policies and procedures.
  • Review, compare, and analyze products and services to be purchased.
  • Manage inventories and maintain accurate purchase and pricing records.
  • Maintain and update supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, and product ranges.
  • Maintain good supplier relations and negotiate contracts.
  • Research and evaluate prospective suppliers.
  • Prepare budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
Experience
  • 5 to 10 years of procurement experience.
  • Commodity experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, or similarly regulated industries is preferable.
Education
  • Degree or diploma level or equivalent job experience.
  • Studying towards MCIPS, CPSM, CPM, CCM preferred.
