Sr. Planning Engineer

Job Description

Wood is currently hiring a Senior Planning Engineer to be based in Habshan site office in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Responsibilities

1. Support the maintenance of planning control structures in alignment with approved project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
2. Support the maintenance of baseline project plans and schedules using appropriate scheduling software.
3. Assist with monitoring and controlling planning activities through all phases of the project lifecycle.
4. Liaise with engineering, procurement, construction functions, and third parties as required, to maintain awareness of project activities, their status, and their impact on the schedule and manpower requirements.
5. Support the preparation of project plans and schedules according to project reporting requirements.
6. Support the preparation of project progress and performance status reports.
7. Assist in updating project plans, schedules, and manpower requirements.
8. Monitor overall project progress, achievement of milestones, and analyze project performance relative to plans.
9. Liaise with the cost discipline to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets.
10. Participate in schedule risk analysis as needed.
11. Contribute to Project Controls Compliance and Continuous Improvement reviews.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor of Engineering or related discipline.
2. Minimum 15 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with 7-8 years in a similar role.
3. Basic understanding of project management principles and techniques.
4. Preferred exposure to Primavera and/or MS Project.
