Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr Pipeline Design Engineer to oversee the design and development of pipeline systems across a range of infrastructure or energy projects. The role is to ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulations, and support projects from conceptual design through detailed engineering and construction support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and manage the pipeline design team through all project phases from feasibility studies and conceptual designs to final detailed designs.

Develop and review pipeline routing, hydraulics, stress analysis, and material specifications.

Ensure design compliance with applicable codes (e.g., ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8), client standards, and industry best practices.

Perform and review pipeline integrity assessments and risk analyses.

Coordinate with civil, structural, and geotechnical engineers as well as project management and procurement teams.

Guide the selection of pipeline materials, coatings, insulation, and cathodic protection.

Prepare and review engineering documentation, including P&IDs, alignment sheets, isometrics, and bill of materials.

Support permitting and regulatory processes; interface with external stakeholders and regulatory bodies when required.

Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
Mentor junior engineers and support talent development within the engineering team.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in pipeline design software (e.g., AutoPIPE, CAESAR II, Civil 3D, GIS etc).

Strong understanding of pipeline hydraulics, stress analysis, corrosion control, and construction methods.

Familiarity with HAZOP/HAZID and risk-based design principles.

Experience with international and regional codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, ASTM, ISO).

Lead and manage the pipeline design team through all project phases from feasibility studies and conceptual designs to final detailed designs.
