Sr. MEP Engineer

Reports directly to the Maintenance Manager, the MEP Engineer collaborates with architects, construction teams, and other professionals to integrate these critical systems seamlessly into the building’s design. They also consider energy efficiency and sustainability, aiming to minimize energy consumption and environmental impact.

Conditions of Work

While main duties are predominately carried out in the Al Forsan Premises, work will be mainly outdoors onsite & often offsite during tournaments and events.

• Responsible for ensuring that reactive, preventive, and day-to-day maintenance activities are carried out.
• Responsible for ensuring that all mechanical, electrical and plant systems and equipment are always in excellent working order, operating safely and efficiently.
• To provide Engineering support to all the departments where required or as requested by the Top Management.
• Responsible for conducting annual Engineering audits and for ensuring that results are disseminated to all concerned parties in the resort and follow up on implementation of any corrective action.
• Responsible for evaluating the Annual Engineering Self Audits and follow up on implementation of any corrective action.
• Overviews all MEP engineering efforts and activities of Al Forsan Group.
• Review engineering operations of the Resort on a regular basis by analyzing the engineering reports; liaise regularly with the Top Management.
• Ensures that Engineering standards and policies are implemented throughout Resort and continually improves and makes recommendations for the upgrade of these standards.
• Establishing energy reduction objectives and maintaining records and regular reporting of performance against such objectives.
• Ensures awareness and full understanding of energy management within the resort by arranging and/or conducting regular education and training programs on energy conservation and matters related to the efficient operation of the equipment in a cost-effective manner.
• Responsible for ensuring that there is adherence to all statutory regulations and fire codes by regularly reviewing policies and safety procedures.
• Responsible for ensuring that any tests and inspections required by statutory authorities are carried out as and when required and that all records and documentation associated with such tests and surveys are correctly kept and/or displayed.
• Responsible for fulfillment of all compliance requirements.
• Responsible for ensuring that all safety and contingency procedures in Al Forsan are fully understood by all associates and that associates are adequately trained to handle emergencies.
• Drives implementation of government Life Safety procedures ensuring the perfect functional condition of all fire alarm systems, fire prevention and firefighting equipment, to also ensure frequent inspections are carried out.
• Ensures the effective and safe operation of all mechanical and electrical systems and equipment by implementing and managing a preventive maintenance program.
• Responsible for closely monitoring the physical condition of all equipment in the resort and their responsibility by conducting continual inspections.
• Responsible for ensuring that preventive maintenance schedules are in operation and regularly upgraded.
• Advises the Top Management in all aspects of engineering-related matters, environmental control, operational efficiency and safety standards of Al Forsan.
• Ensures that the systems which are in place throughout the property are capable of handling the day-to-day requests quickly and efficiently.
• Is responsible for the preparation and timely/efficient submission of accurate operational reports. Review the monthly Fire Prevention Checklist and Red Flag items to ensure that any reported problems are corrected.
• Is responsible for engaging outside contractors and for monitoring the standard of work carried out by such parties to ensure that it meets the agreed quality at all times.
• Assists in the supervision of the supply of inventory necessary for optimal and cost-effective operating efficiency and liaises, if necessary, with purchasing and suppliers to ensure provision of quality engineering supplies at most competitive prices.
• Responsible for ensuring that Al Forsan maintains its Istifaa compliance.

GENERAL

• Keeps abreast with developments and engineering technology advancements and makes appropriate recommendations to the Maintenance Manager and Head of Property Management.
• Coaches, counsels, disciplines and develops subordinates.
• Ensures that associates are selected, trained, evaluated and rewarded.
• Is fully conversant with all aspects and health and safety, fire and emergency procedures.
• Is responsible for ensuring that all activities within Al Forsan are carried out honestly, ethically and within the parameters established by the local laws in the respective countries.
• Maintains the highest level of professionalism and integrity at all times, whether in appearance or in dealing with others.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or any other related discipline.
• Relevant Experience in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems, should have experience on Villa projects, Fit-out projects, Restaurant projects and Renovation projects.
• Driving license is compulsory.
• Minimum 7-10 years’ experience as MEP Engineer in a senior role preferably in Hospitality, Sports Recreational, Real Estate or construction.
• Practical knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance and safety.
• Expertise in project management and construction processes.
• Collaboration with architects, contractors, and other professionals is essential for successful project execution.
• Computer software literacy – MS Office/CAD/MEP design software (optional).
• Knowledge of district cooling / HVAC design and systems is necessary.
