About the opportunity

Are you a certified Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) expert looking to make a meaningful impact? Talabat's Regional Logistics team in Dubai seeks a dedicated individual to lead the charge in enhancing the safety and well-being of our delivery heroes. As a Sr. Manager Health & Safety, you'll play a pivotal role in crafting and implementing safety protocols, ensuring compliance, and enhancing the overall health and safety standards for our valued riders.

We’re seeking a talented individual to join our Rider Lifecycle team. With an in-depth understanding of the bigger picture, you will be responsible for riders' health, safety & wellbeing across the MENA region and will be a key leader in our innovative tech solutions, pioneering safety initiatives, and active process auditing across all 8 markets. Your goal will be to ensure data-driven improvements in safety practices on and off the road, creating a healthy environment for Talabat riders.

This role isn't just about maintaining safety; it's about driving positive change and championing rider welfare at every step.

What’s On Your Plate?

• Own and lead the data strategy for rider health and safety, leveraging insights to design and optimize processes that enhance speed, efficiency, and rider well-being.
• Lead project management efforts to develop and execute region-specific action plans, ensuring adherence to timelines and market-specific needs, while coordinating with global, regional, and local stakeholders.
• Leverage industry-leading technologies and processes—such as telematics, accident validation, and Incident Management Systems (IMS)—by auditing BAU operations, identifying inefficiencies, and driving safety improvements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety SOPs to ensure consistency across all markets, regularly reviewing and updating them to align with evolving safety standards and operational needs.
• Serve as an advocate for rider safety by staying up-to-date with local safety regulations and collaborating with regulators and the PR team to promote safety improvements both on and off the road.
• Demonstrate strategic thinking and execution in safety initiatives like Road Safety Weeks, Rider Insurance processes, social media safety campaigns, and adopting innovative tech solutions.
• Use data insights to identify safety risks, measure impact, and support informed decision-making.
• Address and investigate safety concerns raised by vendors/riders and customers, implementing corrective actions to mitigate dangers.

What Did We Order?

• 5-6 years of experience in health & safety, ideally within logistics
• Data-driven mindset, proficiency in analyzing data, deriving insights, and presenting findings clearly. Experience with analytical tools like SQL, Excel, Gsheets, Tableau, Looker, or similar is preferred.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners.
• Experience in developing and implementing safety protocols.
• A proactive approach to risk assessment and mitigation.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and embracing change as an opportunity.
• Fluent in English; Arabic and Urdu are a plus.
