Job description

Are you a certified Health Safety and Environment (HSE) expert looking to make a meaningful impact? Talabats Regional Logistics team in Dubai seeks a dedicated individual to lead the charge in enhancing the safety and wellbeing of our delivery heroes. As a Sr. Manager Health & Safety, you'll play a pivotal role in crafting and implementing safety protocols, ensuring compliance, and enhancing the overall health and safety standards for our valued riders.

We're seeking a talented individual to join our Rider Lifecycle team. With an in-depth understanding of the bigger picture, you will be responsible for riders' health, safety, and wellbeing across the MENA region and will be a key leader in our innovative tech solutions, pioneering safety initiatives, as well as active process auditing in all 8 markets. Your North Star will be to ensure data-driven improvements in the way we tackle safety challenges on and off the road, with the ultimate goal of creating a healthy environment for Talabat riders.

This role isn't just about maintaining safety; it's about driving positive change and championing rider welfare at every step.

What's On Your Plate
  1. Own and lead the data strategy for rider health and safety, leveraging insights to design and optimize processes that enhance speed, efficiency, and rider wellbeing.
  2. Lead project management efforts to develop and execute region-specific action plans, ensuring adherence to strict timelines, market-specific needs, and seamless coordination with global, regional, and local stakeholders.
  3. Leverage industry-leading technologies and processes such as telematics, accident validation, and Incident Management Systems (IMS) by auditing BAU operations, identifying inefficiencies, and driving improvements for a safer and more efficient rider experience.
  4. Develop, implement, and maintain safety SOPs to ensure consistency across all markets, while regularly reviewing and updating them to align with evolving safety standards and operational needs.
  5. Serve as the advocate for rider safety by staying up-to-date with local safety regulations and best practices, collaborating with regulators and the public relations team to drive meaningful safety improvements both on and off the road.
  6. Demonstrate strategic thinking and excellence in key safety initiatives such as Road Safety Weeks, Rider Insurance processes, social media ride safety campaigns, and the adoption of innovative technology solutions.
  7. Leverage data-driven insights to identify safety risks, measure impact, and drive informed decision-making.
  8. Address and investigate safety complaints and concerns raised by vendors, riders, and customers, implementing corrective action plans to eliminate potential dangers.
What Did We Order
  1. HSE certification or relevant qualifications
  2. 56 years of health & safety experience, ideally within logistics
  3. Data-driven mindset to analyze data, derive insights, and present findings concisely. Critical thinking and experience with analytical tools (SQL, Excel, Gsheets, Tableau, Looker, or equivalent) are desired.
  4. Excel in leadership skills and stakeholder management, collaborating across teams and with external partners.
  5. Proven project management experience.
  6. Experience in developing and implementing safety protocols.
  7. A proactive approach to risk assessment and mitigation.
  8. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and see changes as opportunities.
  9. Fluent in English; Arabic and Urdu fluency is a plus.
