Client of AIQU seeks a Sr Engineer Level 1 Governance Standards to design, implement and oversee IT governance policies across the UAE. The role focuses on regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and best practices in endpoint security, IAM, ITIL, and Intune management.

Must have COBIT/ISO27001 knowledge, 10+ years in governance/security/compliance, and strong stakeholder management. UAE regulatory familiarity is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in IT governance, security or compliance
  • Strong COBIT and ISO 27001 knowledge
  • Experience with IAM (SSO, MFA, LDAP, SAML) and ITIL processes

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and maintain IT governance frameworks, policies, and standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align governance controls with business goals
  • Monitor governance metrics, compliance status, and risk assessments
  • Lead endpoint security strategy deployment and monitoring
  • Design and implement IAM solutions and access review processes
  • Configure and maintain Microsoft Intune for device compliance
  • Advise on end-user computing and enforce security guidelines
  • Conduct audits and gap analyses to identify governance improvements
  • Provide mentorship and training on governance standards

Job description

The Sr Engineer Level 1 Governance Standards will design implement and oversee IT governance policies and standards across the organization in the United Arab Emirates

This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements mitigates risk and drives best practices in endpoint security identity and access management ITIL processes end user computing and Microsoft Intune

  • Develop document and maintain IT governance frameworks policies and standardsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of governance controls with business objectives
  • Monitor and report on governance metrics compliance status and risk assessments
  • Lead endpoint security strategy deployment and monitoring initiatives
  • Design and implement Identity and Access Management IAM solutions and access review processes
  • Manage ITIL-based processes including incident problem and change management
  • Configure deploy and maintain Microsoft Intune for device compliance and management
  • Advise on end user computing solutions and enforce security guidelines for desktops laptops and mobile devices
  • Conduct regular audits and gap analyses to identify governance improvements
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers on governance standards and technical best practices
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field8 10 years of professional experience in IT governance, security, or compliance rolesTechnical expertise in IT governance frameworks such as COBIT and ISO 27001Hands-on experience with endpoint security solutions (e.g., EDR, antivirus platforms)Proficiency in Identity and Access Management technologies and protocols (e.g., SSO, MFA, LDAP, SAML)Practical knowledge of ITIL processes including incident, problem, and change managementExperience with end user computing platforms and device management best practicesProven experience configuring and managing Microsoft IntuneStrong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work effectively within the regulatory environment of the United Arab Emirates
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications such as CISM, CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, ITIL Expert, or COBIT5 Practitioner
  • Experience with cloud governance and security in Azure and AWS environments
  • Familiarity with UAE regulatory frameworks (e.g., NESA, DIFC, ADGM)
  • Experience with security automation and orchestration tools
  • Arabic language proficiency
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)
