Job summary

L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering in Abu Dhabi seeks a professional for site inspections and risk management. Responsibilities include conducting Job Safety Analysis, managing Permit-to-Work systems, and enforcing Lockout-Tagout procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in ensuring PPE compliance, temporary grounding verification, and leading contractor safety inductions. You will also oversee safety discussions focusing on high-risk activities and lead the investigation of near-misses to implement necessary corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Experience in conducting Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for various tasks.
• Understanding of Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems and Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Ability to conduct safety inductions and lead Toolbox Talks.

Job description

Site Inspections & Risk Management

• Conduct detailed Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for tasks such as transformer installation, cable pulling, and switchyard gantry erection.
• Manage and audit Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) systems to ensure all personnel have proper authorization before entering energized zones.
• Strictly enforce Lockout‑Tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure equipment is de‑energized and safe for maintenance or installation.

Technical Safety Oversight

• Ensure all tools and PPE (arc‑rated clothing, insulated gloves) meet voltage requirements and are properly tested.
• Verify temporary grounding is correctly applied during construction to prevent accidental energization.
• Oversee shoring and underground utility detection for heavy trenching during substation grounding grid projects.

Training & Compliance

• Conduct site‑specific safety inductions for all contractors and visitors.
• Lead daily Toolbox Talks focusing on high‑risk activities scheduled for the day.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for near‑misses or accidents and implement corrective actions.
