Job summary

A leading company is seeking a Senior Electrical Draftsman to prepare detailed shop drawings and develop coordination drawings in compliance with project and local authority requirements. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in drafting, especially within UAE/GCC contracting companies. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is essential, and knowledge of Revit or BIM tools will be beneficial. This role requires excellent technical, communication, and organizational skills, and a readiness to join within two weeks.

Job description

• Prepare accurate shop drawings for electrical systems, including power, lighting, ELV, fire alarm, and containment layouts.
• Develop coordination drawings integrating architectural, structural, and MEP services, ensuring clash-free and practical installations.
• Interpret design drawings and technical specifications to produce clear, compliant drafting deliverables.
• Coordinate with project engineers, site supervisors, and other disciplines to support construction activities.
• Revise and update drawings based on site mark-ups, RFIs, and engineering instructions.
• Ensure all drawings comply with local authority regulations and company standards.
• Maintain drawing logs and ensure timely submission of deliverables according to project schedules.
• Assist in resolving drawing-related issues during the design and execution phases.
  

Key Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 8 years of drafting experience, with at least 5 years in the UAE/GCC contracting companies.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit or BIM tools is a plus.
• Proven experience in preparing coordination drawings and handling multi-discipline integration.
• Familiarity with UAE/GCC construction codes, standards, and authority submission requirements (e.g., DEWA, ADDC, QCDD).
• Excellent technical understanding, communication, and organizational skills.
