Job summary

NMDC Careers in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, seeks an experienced Commissioning Engineer to lead commissioning activities for process systems in oil and gas projects. You will prepare method statements, perform SAT and functional tests, and ensure compliance with HSE standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 10 years of relevant experience, with a minimum 4 years in a key commissioning position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
• 10+ years in oil & gas with at least 4 years in a commissioning role.
• Experience leading a commissioning team.
• Ability to organize and perform SAT and functional testing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure commissioning tasks are implemented per standards and procedures.
• Provide detailed testing reports and documentation for completed tasks.
• Organize and perform discipline activities, SAT and functional tests.
• Ensure PPE, PTW & HSE requirements are followed at worksites.
• Receive project docs and understand the scope of work for the discipline.
• Identify testing equipment and ensure safe operating condition prior use.
• Lead a team to undertake commissioning activities in projects.
• Interface with other disciplines to ensure integration of activities.
• Undertake functional and operational tests for process systems.
• Prepare method statements, procedures and routines as required.
• Report progress, flag risks, and propose solutions.
• Assist in database prep for pre-commissioning and commissioning.
• Plan and monitor vendor activities; ensure spare parts are adequate.

Job description

Jobs at this level are responsible to ensure that Commissioning tasks assigned are properly implemented as per work standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

Ability to provide detailed testing report and relevant documentation on completed task.

Ability to organize and perform discipline activities, SAT and functional testing, as applicable.

Ensure that all PPE, PTW & HSE requirements are adhered to when at worksite.

Receives Project documentation and understands Scope of Work related to his discipline.

Identify test equipment required to complete testing at worksite and ensure all testing equipment are in safe operating condition prior use.

Leads a team to undertake commissioning activities in projects , as applicable. .

Interfaces with other disciplines to ensure integration of activities.

Undertake functional and Operational tests for various Process Systems.

Preparation of method statements, procedures and routines where required.

Reports on work progress, bringing to notice potential problems or delays and recommends solutions.

Assist during the database preparation for pre-commissioning status index and commissioning technical database for Electrical Systems.

Plan, Monitor and assist in Vendor activities as required.

Ensure temporary supplies and commissioning spares are adequate for the subsystem testing.

Compliance in accordance with HSE Standard.
