Job summary

NMDC Careers is seeking a senior Commissioning Engineer for Abu Dhabi, UAE, to lead the electrical discipline across oil and gas projects. The role involves guiding engineers and supervisors, directing SAT and testing activities, and coordinating with QA/QC and clients to ensure compliance with standards.

You will lead a team of technicians, interface with clients, participate in project meetings, and ensure documentation and testing processes are aligned with project schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years’ relevant oil and gas experience with at least 4 years in a key commissioning role.

Responsibilities

• Guide technical issues to several electrical engineers & supervisors.
• Direct daily activities related to electrical discipline SAT, energization and functional testing.
• Provide technical support and problem resolution on different equipment.
• Coordinate internal and client audits with QA/QC.
• Lead a team of technicians to undertake commissioning activities.
• Interface with client and attend project meetings to ensure schedule progress.
• Prepare method statements, procedures and routines as required.
• Ensure all testing documents are available to the testing team.

Job description

Jobs at this level are responsible to ensure that Commissioning tasks assigned are properly implemented as per work standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

Able to guide technical issue to several electrical engineers & supervisors under his responsibility.

Direct the daily activities related to discipline SAT, energization and functional testing.

Provide technical support and problem resolving on different equipment

Interact with QA/QC to ensure compliance with company quality procedures. Coordinate internal and client audit request.

Able to analyze technical issues to initiate an appropriate corrective action and report the same to the direct line management.

Able to interface with client as required, attend internal project meetings, ensure the progress of commissioning discipline in accordance to schedule.

Ensure all testing document are available to the testing team and coordinate with field engineering the any corrective action required on the document.

Identify any design failures or discrepancies that may be lessons learned for future projects and report same via line management.

Receives Project documentation and understands Scope of Work related to Electrical discipline.

Lead a team of technicians to undertake commissioning activities in projects.

Interfaces with other disciplines to ensure integration of activities.

Undertake functional and Operational tests for various Systems.

Preparation of method statements, procedures and routines where required.

Reports on work progress, bringing to notice potential problems or delays and recommends solutions.

Assist during the database preparation for pre-commissioning status index and commissioning technical database for Electrical Systems.

Plan, Monitor and assist in Vendor activities as required.

Ensure temporary supplies and commissioning spares are adequate for the subsystem testing.

Compliance in accordance with HSE Standard.
