Sports Performance Analyst - Athlete Data in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is an Education Management role focused on using performance data, video analysis, biometric insights, and digital dashboards to support athlete development in a high‑performance school sports environment. This opportunity is ideal for a sports science or data‑focused professional who can turn complex performance information into clear coaching insights for students, coaches, parents, and school leaders.
The role supports evidence‑informed decision‑making across the school's High Performance Team by collecting, analysing, and presenting athlete data related to wellbeing, training load, attendance, behaviour, technical development, and performance progress. The successful candidate will also help introduce new technologies, AI tools, and digital tracking systems to strengthen athlete monitoring, intervention planning, and scholarship preparation.
Core Duties
- Capture, analyse, and interpret biometric, physiological, wellbeing, and performance data for high‑performance student athletes.
- Manage video analysis from fixtures, training sessions, performance testing, and team reviews to support individual and squad development.
- Build and maintain custom dashboards using platforms such as Power BI, TeamBuildr, VALD, or similar tools.
- Track trends in athlete load, attendance, behaviour, wellbeing, and performance to identify risks, improvements, and intervention needs.
- Work closely with coaches to create performance profiles and deliver practical feedback for athletes and parents.
- Produce monthly reports that translate data into clear recommendations for coaching, athlete support, and programme planning.
- Support the High Performance Coordinator with individual athlete plan reviews and comprehensive performance summaries.
- Create visual and video‑based coaching resources, including highlight reels, breakdown clips, tactical reviews, and technical feedback content.
- Explore emerging technologies, AI tools, player tracking systems, and auto‑tagging software to improve performance analysis workflows.
- Support digital athlete portfolios for students seeking scholarships, academy pathways, or external performance opportunities.
- Ensure all performance data systems follow school data protection, confidentiality, safeguarding, and student welfare policies.
- Contribute to professional development activity across the GEMS Network through the Centre of Excellence for Sport.
- Support the Director of Sport and High Performance Coordinator with additional responsibilities linked to whole‑school sports outcomes.
Required Skills and Experience
- Degree in Sports Science, Performance Analysis, Data Science, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualification desirable.
- Experience working in a school, academy, or professional sport setting in a performance analysis or data‑focused role.
- Proficiency with performance analysis software such as HUDL, VALD, TeamBuildr, or similar platforms.
- Strong ability to use data visualisation tools such as Power BI for dashboards, reports, and trend analysis.
- Solid understanding of athlete monitoring systems, video tagging, load management, and performance testing.
- Ability to explain technical data clearly to coaches, athletes, parents, and senior school teams.
- Strong attention to detail when handling athlete records, performance metrics, dashboards, and reports.
- Passion for using data, technology, and AI to improve athlete development, wellbeing, and long‑term outcomes.
- Commitment to safeguarding, data protection, student welfare, and professional conduct.
- Ability to provide a UK‑enhanced DBS or equivalent police clearance as required.
