Professional Responsibilities:

  • Independently managing a caseload of patients with developmental speech and language delays and disorders, social communication disorders including dysfluency and motor speech disorders (dyspraxia).
  • Developing and implementing specialised speech and language treatment plans for individuals and groups targeting a wide range of difficulties (e.g., attention and listening skills, auditory processing, play and interaction, language understanding and expression, speech production, pronunciation).
  • Advising others on the management and care of patients with communication and oro-motor difficulties, including setting and reviewing targets in collaboration with caregivers and developing skills.
  • Using assessments and clinical reasoning to form baseline measures or differential diagnoses to plan interventions.
  • Delivering therapy interventions as part of the patient's learning and daily routines.
  • Taking comprehensive case histories including medical, social, psychological, educational, and developmental information.
  • Collaborating with the SLT team and liaising with internal and external agencies to provide effective services.
  • Providing tailored management, treatment, and advice, involving families, carers, and educators, and offering training to other professionals.
  • Establishing productive relationships with patients and families, considering communication challenges, behaviour, psychological, emotional, and cultural factors.
  • Monitoring equipment functionality and reporting issues for repairs or updates.
  • Applying infection control precautions and maintaining safety and health regulations.
  • Ensuring confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications:
