Job Purpose
Provide specialized care, support, and therapeutic interventions to enhance the communication and swallowing abilities of patients, ultimately improving their quality of life and participation in daily activities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments: Administer standardized and/or criterion-referenced tools to understand clients' strengths and weaknesses in speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing.
- Set language-based diagnoses or collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to identify underlying conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans: Create personalized therapy plans based on assessment results tailored to each client's needs and goals.
- Write detailed reports, intervention plans, and progress summaries.
- Implement therapeutic interventions: Use evidence-based techniques and therapies to improve clients' communication skills across speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing.
- Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate speech therapy sessions: Conduct one-on-one or group sessions at clinics or schools/nurseries.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss cases and align treatment plans.
- Collaborate with internal and external healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Monitor progress and adjust treatments as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Educate clients and caregivers: Offer strategies and techniques to support communication development and reinforce therapy goals at home and in other settings.
- Maintain accurate records: Document assessments, therapy sessions, progress notes, and communications, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Stay updated with current research and best practices in speech and language therapy to deliver evidence-based interventions.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards: Uphold confidentiality, ethical guidelines, and professional conduct in all interactions.
Engage in providing training for parents and other professionals as needed.
Knowledge / Education / Skills :
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology from an accredited university.
- Current DOH / DHA license or registration to practice as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- Experience in diagnostic assessment report writing.
- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Arabic and English.
- Empathy and patience working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
- Knowledge of various speech and language disorders, assessment tools, and therapeutic techniques.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred :
- Experience managing autism and other developmental disorders.
- Experience in parent training and coaching.

Shared responsibility for maintaining confidentiality, security, and accuracy of records and data, ensuring quality documentation in line with organizational, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
Communication & Interaction
Regular communication may involve judgment, information gathering, and explanation. Some interactions may involve distressing information.
Safeguarding
All colleagues are responsible for safeguarding vulnerable individuals and must be familiar with local child and adult protection procedures, attending relevant training.
