Responsibilities
- Ensure products and solutions are qualified at the customer level and driven through the specification cycle.
- Deliver presentations and related documents to decision-makers in public agencies, irrigation consultants, landscape architects, and corporate account customers.
- Establish Rain Bird as the primary product specified for ongoing maintenance and new projects in the region.
- Conduct product demonstrations and become the technical expert for Rain Bird products.
- Develop and implement sales programs and strategies to significantly grow sales through irrigation consultants, landscape architects, and corporate accounts.
- Aim for 25%-30% of sales to come from the newly developed product range.
- Make Rain Bird the most visible manufacturer to all agencies in the region.
- Participate in local and regional events, maintaining close contacts with organizations to network and generate sales opportunities.
- Be the technical resource on irrigation specifications for area managers and public agency accounts.
- Collaborate across markets to improve specification results and keep project trackers updated.
- Work with marketing to improve specification results for current products through targeted programs.
- Gather market intelligence on competitors’ technologies, potential projects, and sales issues.
- This position requires approximately 50+% overnight travel.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- University degree (BA, B.Sc., or similar) in agricultural/irrigation engineering, landscape architecture, or relevant engineering discipline.
- Fluent in both Arabic and English (written & verbal).
- 10+ years of experience in irrigation technical sales management, specification, or marketing.
- Proven market knowledge in the region, with understanding of key stakeholders such as consultants, municipalities, landscape architects, and contractors.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, and supervisory skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive team player with excellent communication skills.
- Experience working in an international organization.
- Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time, including overnight trips.
Desired Qualifications:
- MBA or other postgraduate degree.
- Strong technical background in irrigation, including knowledge of Rain Bird and competitors’ products, and irrigation design.
- Understanding of commercial irrigation standards, with hands-on experience in large-scale project specifications.
- Ability to read technical drawings, BOQs, and specifications proficiently.
