Responsibilities

• Coordinate Transport Network Planning to support outdoor and IBS rollout across 2G/3G/LTE/5G services.
• Coordinate with verticals to enable network activations for new services.
• Develop action plans for Transport Network Planning projects.
• Evaluate new technologies for network improvements (e.g., equipment).
• Prepare budgets for transmission network expansions to extend radio coverage.
• Prepare BoMs for new projects per process flow.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Define KPIs for Transmission projects.
• Develop planning guidelines, templates and procedures for TI project submissions.
• Handle IP traffic and capacity expansion proposals for MW network.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

• Handle the Transport Network Planning team to deliver necessary plans to support annual outdoor and IBS rollout scope (2G/3G/LTE/5G mobile services) for du mobile network. This includes evaluation of suitable transmission connectivity solution such as microwave point to point or fiber as per planning standards for each mobile services to assure smooth operations.
• Ensures high-level coordination with different verticals in the organization to provide the network activation for the new services.
• Develops action plans for Transport Network Planning projects.
• Plans and evaluates new technologies offered in the Transport market for network improvement such as new equipment that can provide for the network.
• Prepares budgets of the Transmission network expansions to extend the Radio coverage.
• Consults with higher management to prepare the transmission BoM for the new projects according to process flow.
• Ensures compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Defines the Transmission network standard KPI’s for all new projects.
• Develops planning guidelines, templates, and procedures for Transmission plans to be submitted for Telecom Implementation (TI) team for project implementation.
• Handle the IP traffic on the MW network and provide capacity expansion proposal in case of Network congestion.
• Handle frequent capacity utilization management campaigns to ensure the best transmission network utilization.
• Ensures proper maintenance and calibration of the transmission department’s equipment, tools, and software.
• Handle the submission of spectrum license application to UAE’s Telecommunications Digital Regulatory Authority (TDRA) to obtain permission for all mobile sites corresponding microwave links.
• Ensures that all applications for new links, links for Modification and links for Cancellation will be applied to TDRA on timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Graduate in Electrical & Electronics or Telecommunications/Computer engineering.
• Certification in Radio Transmission technologies is required.

Skills

• Strong knowledge in Transmission Planning tools such as Pathloss, Netact, I-river, Connect, Mapinfo
• Strong knowledge in Access Transport Network equipment such as Nokia MPR, Huawei RTN, Nokia SAR, IXR-E, SR7B, Pre-agg, Cisco CSGs
• Strong knowledge and experience in planning the SDH/PDH/Hybrid/IP Microwave and Fiber technologies.
• Very good knowledge in transmission NMS such as NCE and NFMP
• Very good knowledge in 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G Technologies.
• Good Background and understanding in IP access network.
• Strong knowledge and experience in methodology of project management is desired.
• Good presentation and negotiation skills
• Basic computer skills (MS Office, Windows)
• English language skills (conversation, reading and writing
