Overview

Allocation Assist Middle East is hiring a compassionate pulmonologist to diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic respiratory conditions while delivering evidence‑based, patient‑centred care. The role requires strong expertise in bronchoscopy, pulmonary function testing, respiratory support, chest imaging interpretation, and multidisciplinary clinical management.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic respiratory and pulmonary diseases.
• Treat asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonia, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary fibrosis.
• Evaluate and manage sleep‑related breathing disorders and other complex respiratory conditions.
• Conduct detailed medical history reviews, physical examinations, and clinical risk assessments.
• Request appropriate laboratory, imaging, physiological, and respiratory diagnostic investigations.
• Interpret pulmonary function tests and assess airflow limitation, lung capacity, and respiratory performance.
• Review chest X‑rays, CT scans, arterial blood gases, and other diagnostic findings.
• Interpret bronchoscopy results and integrate findings into treatment decisions.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy procedures within approved clinical privileges.
• Carry out other pulmonary interventions according to patient needs, training, and hospital protocols.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on diagnosis, disease severity, comorbidities, and patient preferences.
• Prescribe medication, inhalation therapy, oxygen treatment, rehabilitation, and supportive care as appropriate.
• Monitor treatment response and adjust management plans according to clinical progress.
• Manage patients requiring oxygen therapy, non‑invasive ventilation, and other forms of respiratory support.
• Assess patients with deteriorating respiratory function and initiate timely escalation of care.
• Collaborate with intensive care teams when managing critical respiratory conditions.
• Coordinate care with internal medicine physicians, thoracic surgeons, cardiologists, infectious disease specialists, and radiologists.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and clinical decision‑making.
• Refer patients for surgery, advanced intervention, rehabilitation, or specialist testing when required.
• Educate patients and families about respiratory disease, treatment, medication, warning signs, and follow‑up care.
• Provide counseling on smoking cessation, preventive care, vaccination, environmental risks, and lifestyle modification.
• Support patients with long‑term respiratory disease in improving adherence and self‑management.
• Maintain accurate and timely consultation notes, procedure reports, prescriptions, and follow‑up documentation.
• Ensure medical records comply with DHA regulations, hospital policies, and professional standards.
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, consent, confidentiality, and ethical practice requirements.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement projects, and departmental performance reviews.
• Review clinical outcomes, complications, readmissions, and opportunities to improve respiratory services.
• Attend continuing medical education activities and maintain current knowledge of pulmonary medicine.
• Contribute to departmental teaching, case presentations, and professional knowledge sharing.
• Participate in on‑call, inpatient, outpatient, and emergency coverage according to the clinical rota.

Ideal Profile

• MBBS, MD, or equivalent medical degree from a recognised institution.
• Master's degree, MD, DNB, or equivalent specialist qualification in Pulmonology or Respiratory Medicine.
• DHA licence, DHA Eligibility Letter, or eligibility to obtain specialist licensing in Dubai.
• Minimum three to five years of post‑specialisation experience as a Specialist Pulmonologist.
• Strong clinical experience managing acute and chronic respiratory diseases.
• Practical expertise in bronchoscopy and pulmonary function testing.
• Experience treating patients with critical or deteriorating respiratory conditions.
• Previous employment within a reputable hospital or multispecialty healthcare facility is preferred.
• Valid Basic Life Support certification is preferred.
• Valid Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification is preferred.
• Fellowship or additional training in Interventional Pulmonology is advantageous.
• Additional training or clinical experience in Sleep Medicine is beneficial.
• Strong diagnostic reasoning and clinical decision‑making ability.
• Ability to interpret pulmonary investigations accurately and efficiently.
• Excellent communication and patient counselling skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary clinical teams.
• Strong organisational, documentation, and time‑management capability.
