A diversified healthcare institution in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced psychiatrist to handle administrative functions and supervise healthcare delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, a DOH License, and at least two years of experience in psychiatry. 1. Performs administrative functions at the Department level as established by Medical Management.
2. Supports Continuous Quality Improvement by developing and promoting appropriate standards of care.
3. Develops and implements work assignments, on-call schedules, and vacation schedules for department staff.
4. Supervises and monitors healthcare delivery by department staff, providing guidance and taking remedial action when necessary.
5. Develops and implements effective peer review processes, providing annual and ongoing feedback.
6. Collaborates with committees to develop policies and procedures that promote quality healthcare for psychiatric patients.
7. Uses effective interpersonal skills when dealing with staff, colleagues, and management.
8. Demonstrates leadership skills to foster teamwork and shared objectives among staff.
9. Maintains confidentiality regarding patient information and administrative matters of a confidential nature.
10. Produces timely, high-quality written communications, assessments, proposals, and administrative documents, fulfilling the requirements of the department head role.
11. Demonstrates dependability in fulfilling commitments and obligations.
12. Shows active listening skills to promote effective communication.
13. Develops a thorough understanding of hospital policies and procedures, respecting and adhering to them.
14. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Medical Director.
15. Complies with all OSH and infection control policies, standards, and procedures, cooperating with hospital management.
16. Works in accordance with documented OSH procedures and responsibilities.
17. Familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
18. Reports OSH hazards, incidents, near misses, and assists with risk assessments and incident reports.
19. Complies with waste management procedures and policies.
20. Attends OSH and infection control training, mock drills, and awareness programs.
21. Uses appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems, following safe working procedures.
Desired Candidate Profile
Certification by an accredited Board of Psychiatric Medicine.
At least two years of practice as a licensed psychiatrist.
Excellent command of English; knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
Highly skilled in psychiatry with mature clinical judgment and leadership ability. Knowledge of hospital policies, confidentiality, and professionalism is essential.
Must have DOH License to practice.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with colleagues, patients, and families.
