Job summary

Astra ProMed in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Specialist Neurologist to provide comprehensive neurological assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care for patients with a broad range of neurological disorders.

Responsibilities include conducting consultations, managing acute and chronic conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, headache and movement disorders; coordinating referrals, ordering investigations (MRI/CT/EEG), maintaining records, and participating in multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• MBBS/MD or equivalent from a recognized medical institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Neurology.
• Post-specialization clinical experience in Neurology.
• Previous experience as a Specialist Neurologist preferred.
• Current medical registration/license in the country of practice.
• DoH Abu Dhabi eligibility/license or eligibility to obtain the required professional license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive neurological consultations, examinations, and assessments.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic neurological conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment and diagnostic findings.
• Manage patients with stroke, epilepsy, headache and migraine disorders, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, neuropathies, and neurodegenerative diseases.
• Evaluate patients presenting with neurological emergencies and coordinate urgent management.
• Request and interpret diagnostic investigations, including MRI, CT, EEG, EMG/NCS, and labs.
• Provide appropriate medical treatment and monitor patient response.
• Coordinate referrals to neurosurgery, rehabilitation, psychiatry, pain management, and other specialties.
• Provide follow-up care and monitor disease progression and treatment outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and clinical meetings.
• Contribute to quality-improvement initiatives, audits, and education.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, prognosis, and preventive measures.
• Maintain compliance with DoH Abu Dhabi regulations and hospital policies.

• Current medical registration/license in the country of practice.
• DoH Abu Dhabi eligibility/license or eligibility to obtain the required professional license.
• Good clinical knowledge and demonstrated competence in neurological assessment and management.
• Recent clinical practice with no significant interruption in practice.
