We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Consultant / Specialist Neurologist to join our leading healthcare facility in the UAE.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in clinical neurology, neurological diagnosis, stroke care, and management of acute and chronic neurological disorders, with a commitment to providing comprehensive, evidence-based patient care.
The successful candidate will work closely with neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, neurophysiologists, physiatrists, emergency physicians, intensivists, rehabilitation specialists, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive neurological consultations and detailed neurological examinations
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic neurological conditions
- Develop individualized treatment and follow-up plans based on clinical assessment and diagnostic findings
- Assess and manage patients presenting with headache, dizziness, weakness, numbness, seizures, memory problems, tremors, and other neurological symptoms
- Diagnose and manage stroke, epilepsy, migraine, movement disorders, neuropathies, and neurodegenerative conditions
- Provide timely assessment and management of patients presenting with acute neurological emergencies
- Participate in stroke evaluation and coordinate appropriate acute and post-acute management
- Assess patients with Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, dementia, and other progressive neurological disorders
- Evaluate patients with peripheral nerve, neuromuscular, and muscle disorders
- Review and interpret MRI, CT, EEG, EMG/NCS, laboratory investigations, and other neurological diagnostic studies
- Perform or interpret appropriate neurophysiological investigations within the physician's training and clinical scope
- Assess and manage patients with chronic headache and facial pain disorders
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients with seizures and epilepsy, including medication monitoring and follow-up
- Coordinate multidisciplinary rehabilitation for patients recovering from stroke, neurological injury, or other disabling neurological conditions
- Collaborate with neurosurgeons, neurointensivists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other specialists
- Provide counseling to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, and long-term care
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and confidential medical records
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, clinical audits, quality improvement, teaching, and continuing professional development
Requirements
- MBBS, MD, or equivalent recognized medical qualification
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Neurology / Clinical Neurology or an equivalent specialty
- Relevant post-specialization clinical experience
- Strong experience in general clinical neurology
- Good knowledge of acute and chronic neurological disease management
- Strong neurological examination and diagnostic skills
- Experience in stroke assessment and neurological emergencies
- Good knowledge of neuroimaging and neurophysiological investigations
- Excellent communication and patient-management skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
