Job summary

The role involves conducting consultations, coordinating with neurosurgery, rehabilitation and other specialties, interpreting MRI/CT/EEG results, and contributing to clinical audits and education within a DoH Abu Dhabi compliant facility.

Qualifications

• Medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Neurology.
• Active medical registration/licensing in practice country.
• Experience as Specialist Neurologist preferred.

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Specialist Neurologist to join a leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive neurological assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for patients with a broad range of neurological disorders.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive neurological consultations, examinations, and assessments.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic neurological conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment and diagnostic findings.
• Manage patients with conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, headache and migraine disorders, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, neuropathies, and neurodegenerative diseases.
• Evaluate patients presenting with neurological emergencies and coordinate appropriate urgent management.
• Request and interpret relevant diagnostic investigations, including MRI, CT, EEG, EMG/NCS, and laboratory investigations where appropriate.
• Provide appropriate medical treatment and monitor patient response.
• Coordinate referrals to neurosurgery, rehabilitation, psychiatry, pain management, and other relevant specialties when required.
• Provide follow-up care and monitor disease progression and treatment outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and clinical meetings.
• Contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and continuing medical education.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, and preventive measures.
• Maintain compliance with DoH Abu Dhabi regulations, hospital policies, infection‑control standards, and patient‑safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognized medical institution.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Neurology.
• Relevant post‑specialization clinical experience in Neurology.
• Previous experience working as a Specialist Neurologist is preferred.
• Current medical registration/license in the country of practice.
• DoH Abu Dhabi eligibility/license or eligibility to obtain the required professional license.
• Good clinical knowledge and demonstrated competence in neurological assessment and management.
• Recent clinical practice with no significant interruption in practice.
