Job description

We are currently looking for a Specialist / Lead HVAC Engineer to be based in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities :

1. Identify scope and schedule changes according to the Change Control Process.
2. Deliver technical documentation including Equipment Specifications and Design Assessment Reports, ensuring high-quality standards.
3. Ensure design compliance with relevant procedures and regulations.
4. Review Contract Scope of Work, Design Basis, BEDD, Project Specifications, Equipment & Package Data Sheets, Control Room & Other Rooms/Shelters Layout & Architectural Drawings, Duct Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs & D&Ds), Plot Plans, GA Drawings, Fire & Gas Detection layouts, Philosophies, HSE requirements, and other relevant documents.
5. Review engineering proposals, assist Lead Engineer in identifying discrepancies, and raise technical queries.
6. Identify engineering deliverables, schedule activities, and prepare the Technical Document Register (TDR).
7. Prepare HVAC Data Sheets & Schematics, including equipment sizing, heat load calculations, ventilation, and pressurization calculations.
8. Develop technical specifications for equipment & packages, considering design conditions, utility requirements, metallurgy, environmental regulations, and interfaces.
9. Develop HVAC control system operational philosophy and provide I/O point inputs for Vendor design; ensure F&G System & HVAC Control System interfaces with instrumentation.
10. Manage interfacing and integration of equipment with plant facilities, including issuing engineering documents for Inter-Discipline Checks (IDCs) and managing technical interfaces.
11. Review documents from other disciplines, provide HVAC-specific comments, and ensure proper interfacing.
12. Prepare RFQs for equipment, evaluate bids, and prepare Technical Bid Evaluation Reports (TBE).
13. Prepare Technical Purchase Requisitions, finalize supplier documentation, and participate in Kick-Off Meetings with suppliers.
14. Review test procedures, attend shop performance tests, review reports, and advise on acceptance.

We seek a highly experienced HVAC Engineer with a proven record in system design, installation, and maintenance, possessing comprehensive HVAC engineering knowledge.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 15+ years of experience in civil and structural engineering within the oil & gas industry.
• Experience in FEED, detailed design, and offshore projects.
• Proficiency with engineering design software and structural analysis tools.
• Deep understanding of international codes, standards, and regulations.
• Experience in project management and leadership for large-scale projects.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Offshore project experience is essential, with an understanding of its unique challenges.
