Job summary

Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital (SSBZH) in the UAE is seeking a Specialist General Surgeon to join our surgical team in the Northern Emirates. You will provide comprehensive general surgical care across the continuum, including assessment, diagnosis, operative management, and post-operative follow-up.

The role requires collaboration with anesthesiology and nursing teams to ensure patient safety and high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• MBBS/MBChB or equivalent medical degree.
• Residency in General Surgery completed.
• DOH License or Eligibility as Specialist General Surgery.
• Minimum 5 years of post-residency experience as a General Surgeon.
• Experience managing elective and emergency general surgical cases.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with general surgical conditions.
• Perform elective and emergency general surgical procedures.
• Conduct pre-operative evaluations and create treatment plans.
• Provide perioperative and post-operative care.
• Manage surgical emergencies and participate in on-call roster.
• Review diagnostics relevant to surgical management.
• Document patient encounters, procedures, and plans.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, physicians, nurses, and other staff to ensure integrated patient care.
