Job summary

Talentspoc LLC invites applications for a Specialist Gastrointestinal Surgeon to join our leading UAE healthcare facility. The role focuses on advanced GI and abdominal surgery, with experience in open and minimally invasive approaches to complex conditions.

You will diagnose, plan, and perform elective and emergency GI procedures, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure excellent pre-and post-operative care, documentation, and patient counseling.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• MS/DNB or equivalent in General Surgery / Gastrointestinal Surgery.
• Minimum 3 years of post-specialization experience.
• Experience in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery is an advantage.
• Excellent surgical skills, clinical judgment, and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and surgically manage a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions.
• Perform elective and emergency gastrointestinal surgical procedures.
• Manage esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum, and other abdominal organs.
• Perform laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures where appropriate.
• Provide preoperative assessments and develop individualized surgical plans.
• Postoperative care and monitor patient recovery.
• Manage surgical complications and coordinate appropriate follow-up.
• Collaborate with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, and other specialists.
• Counsel patients regarding treatment options, surgical procedures, risks, and recovery.
• Maintain accurate clinical and surgical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and surgically manage a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions.
• Perform elective and emergency gastrointestinal surgical procedures.
• Manage conditions involving the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum, and other abdominal organs.
• Perform laparoscopic and minimally invasive gastrointestinal procedures where appropriate.
• Manage gastrointestinal emergencies, including obstruction, perforation, bleeding, and acute abdominal conditions.
• Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments and develop individualized surgical plans.
• Provide postoperative care and monitor patient recovery.
• Manage surgical complications and coordinate appropriate follow-up.
• Collaborate with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, and other specialists.
• Counsel patients regarding treatment options, surgical procedures, risks, and recovery.
