Job summary

First Abu Dhabi Bank FAB is seeking an experienced Global Markets Operations professional to ensure accurate validation, confirmation and settlement of securities. The role requires handling lifecycle events, reconciliation monitoring and timely reporting across FAB’s international operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong know-how of Murex, Omgeo, Euroclear and Clearstream, with a track record in settlement processing and risk awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related discipline.
• 5 years of banking operations experience with at least 2 years in progressive roles within operations.
• Experience with Capital Markets settlement and lifecycle events.

Responsibilities

• Validate, confirm and settle Global Markets trades within agreed timelines.
• Monitor and resolve reconciliation breaks; escalate when necessary.
• Provide guidance and on-the-job training to junior colleagues.
• Prepare sectional statements and reports for FAB Global Markets operations.
• Ensure accurate processing of lifecycle events, corporate actions and settlements.

Job description

To ensure that all Capital Markets related transactions executed by the Global Markets department are successfully matched validated confirmed and settled within the agreed timeframes in the appropriate systems To ensure that all life cycle events are captured booked and instructed accurately To monitor all breaks derived from the reconciliation report to resolve them and to escape where necessary Products handled by Capital Markets team include Bonds Structured Bonds Equity Repo Reverse Repo Islamic Repo Equity Repo & Triparty Repo MBills and TBills Coupons and Dividends Collateral securities Collateral cash and Initial Margin Collateral Loan TRS HNI settlement for Bonds Equities Gold Bullion and corporate action

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide guidance and on the job training for junior colleagues and conduct knowledge sharing to facilitate achievement of team objectives and completion of tasks in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy

• Provide inputs and implement policies systems and procedure for the assigned team so that all relevant procedural legislative requirements fulfilled while delivering a quality cost-effective service

• Participate in the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems processes and practices considering global standards productivity improvement and cost reduction
• Reporting
• Prepare sectional statements and reports timely and accurately to meet FAB and department requirements policies and quality standards
• Specific Accountability
• Staff must be accountable for accurate and timely Validation Confirmation Matching & Settlement of all securities traded by Global Markets team
• Staff must make informed and educated decisions about how to deal with the problems encountered and must be aware of when it is necessary to elevate issues to management
• Staff will be required to regularly communicate interact and problem solve with the Banks Global Markets clients who are sophisticated investors so it s imperative they are professional knowledgeable and take ownership of any issues whilst ensuring the client is kept informed at all times
• Staff will be required to service the Operational requirements for various international FAB offices specifically but not limited to London Hong Kong Oman Singapore and Cayman Islands
• Staff should be aware of and adhere to any regulations as defined by the jurisdiction in operation
• The Validation & Confirmation of Global Market Trades
• Ensure all security transactions executed by the Global Markets trading team are validated within the agreed turnaround time within Murex
• Ensure all trade confirmations are sent to the Counterparties within the agreed turnaround time
• Ensure all deals matched through Omgeo system are allocated to on-boarded funds
• Ensure all Securities trades are uploaded into Euroclear Clearstream JP Morgan and Stanbic ready for settlement
• The Settlements of the Global Market Trades
• Ensure all trades booked in Murex are matched on the agreed value date
• Transfer the net settlement amount to the custodian account before the cut off time
• Follow up with the Counterparties for all unsettled or unmatched trades
• Help in resolving all reconciliation issues
• Ensure all coupons and corporate actions are settled on time
• General
• Report & highlight all risk factors identified
• Participate in daily huddle meetings to raise any concerns or issues
• Strict adherence to the bank policies & procedures
• Support the department in business development projects
• Ensure that all processes are documented in the relevant SOP and that they are kept up to date
• Ensure all KRIs reports are updated daily
• Ensure that all reporting requirements are adhered to
• Provide required support for all FAB International Locations Centralized within head office Global Market Operations
• Frameworks Boundaries & Decision-Making Authority
• Functions within the framework and boundaries of Group policies as well as overall organizational and governance frameworks
• Authorized to take decisions as per the approved authorization matrix

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Qualification Bachelor s degree in business, Accounting or related discipline
• Minimum Experience 5 years relevant experience in the banking sector with at least 2 years in similar positions of progressively increasing responsibilities in an Operations function.
