Purpose of Job:
Reporting to the AVP – AML Quality Check & Training, the main responsibility of this role is to support the business areas covering AML monitoring activities for the Group and ensure alignment of policies and procedures with regulatory requirements and applicable laws and regulations.
Tasks:
- Support the AVP – AML Quality Check & Training by assisting in the implementation and monitoring of AML frameworks and plans to address compliance needs in line with laws, rules, and regulations, aligning with Group FAB TM Policy and Procedures.
- Perform quality checks on alerts in the AML monitoring system and identify the need to file internal Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs).
- Assess conformance with relevant Group Compliance Policies and Procedures, such as Transaction Monitoring Procedures.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of controls used to mitigate risks.
- Identify deficiencies and inaccuracies in activities assessed.
- Provide training to staff to raise compliance awareness related to TM and FCC procedures.
- Maintain effective relationships with related divisions for issue escalation and risk management.
- Assist in providing timely and accurate compliance advice on AML monitoring matters raised by business functions.
- Stay updated on related rules, regulations, and best practices, and assess their impact on FAB, updating the AVP accordingly.
- Provide timely responses for compliance clearance requests.
- Execute other duties as directed by the AVP – AML Quality Check & Training.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Management, Banking, or Finance, preferably with certification in compliance, AML, risk management, or internal audit.
- At least 5 years of business experience, preferably in Compliance and/or Audit in banks.
- Excellent understanding of regional laws and applicable international regulations.
- Strong knowledge of AML/CTF applicable to various banking functions.
- Strong interpersonal, people management, and facilitation skills.
- Team player, able to meet tight deadlines and manage challenging workloads.
- Preferably bilingual, fluent in English and Arabic with strong written and verbal skills.
- Focused on task completion with pace, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Discrete, with a sense of integrity, handling sensitive information confidentially.
