Job description

Reporting to the AVP AML Quality Check & Training, the main responsibility of this role is to support the business areas covering the AML monitoring activities for the Group and ensure that efforts are made to align the related policies and procedures with regulatory requirements and applicable laws and regulations.

TASKS :

Support the AVP AML Quality Check & Training as follows:

  1. Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the framework and plan for AML to properly address the compliance needs and requirements in line with laws, rules, and regulations that best meet the needs of Group FAB TM Policy and Procedures.
  2. Perform quality checks on alerts actioned in AML monitoring system and identify the need to file internal Suspicious Transactions Reports (STRs).
  3. Assess conformance with relevant Group Compliance Policies and Procedures, e.g., Transaction Monitoring Procedures.
  4. Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of controls used to mitigate risks.
  5. Identify deficiencies and inaccuracies in the assessed activities.
  6. Provide training to staff to enhance compliance awareness related to TM and FCC procedures.
  7. Maintain and build effective relationships with related divisions to ensure effective escalation of issues and risk management.
  8. Assist the AVP AML Quality Check & Training in providing timely and accurate compliance advice on AML monitoring matters raised by the business functions.
  9. Stay updated on related rules, regulations, and best practices pertaining to AML, assess their impact on FAB, and inform the AVP accordingly.
  10. Provide timely responses for compliance clearance requests.
  11. Execute other duties as directed by the AVP AML Quality Check & Training.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Management, Banking, or Finance, preferably with certification in compliance, AML, risk management, or internal audit.
  • At least 5 years of business experience, preferably in Compliance and/or Audit in Banks.
  • Excellent understanding of regional laws and applicable international regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge of AML/CTF applied to different banking functions.
  • Strong interpersonal, people management, and facilitation skills.
  • Team player, able to meet tight deadlines and manage challenging workloads.
  • Preferably bilingual, fluent in English and Arabic, with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Focused on task completion with pace, while maintaining high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Discrete, with a sense of integrity, handling sensitive information with confidentiality.
