Job summary

Sharjah American International School – Umm Al Quwain campus is seeking a Spanish Language Teacher to join the World Languages department. You will create a vibrant learning environment, teaching Spanish across multiple grade levels with emphasis on communication skills and cultural appreciation.

The role involves designing lessons, developing speaking/listening/reading/writing skills, assessing progress, and contributing to school events such as International Day.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or related field.
• PGCE or State Teaching License.
• Experience teaching Spanish in international or American curriculum preferred.
• Native or near-native fluency in Spanish with strong English skills.
• Excellent classroom management and student-centered learning.

• Introduce students to the diverse cultures, traditions, and history of Spanish-speaking countries.
• Assess student performance regularly and provide detailed progress reports to parents and school leadership.
• Contribute to school-wide events, such as International Day, to promote cultural awareness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language, Hispanic Studies, or a related field.
• Teaching qualification such as PGCE or a State Teaching License.
• Previous experience teaching Spanish in an international or American curriculum school is highly preferred.
• Native or near-native fluency in Spanish with excellent English communication skills.
• Strong classroom management skills and a passion for student-centered learning.
