Position Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Spa Therapist to join our spa team. As a Spa Therapist, you will play a key role in providing a range of therapeutic treatments aimed at rejuvenating and relaxing our guests. You will deliver professional, personalized services while ensuring a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. You will help create a memorable experience for our clients, ensuring they leave feeling refreshed, relaxed, and restored.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Greet clients warmly upon arrival and ensure they feel welcome.
  2. Conduct thorough pre-treatment consultations to understand client needs, preferences, and any contraindications (e.g., injuries, allergies, pregnancy).
  3. Provide personalized massage recommendations based on the client’s body type, stress levels, and any specific areas of tension or pain.
  4. Assess clients during the treatment to ensure their comfort, adjusting pressure and technique as necessary.
  5. Ensure treatment rooms are clean, welcoming, and fully stocked with required products.
  6. Provide clear aftercare advice to clients following treatments (e.g., post-massage stretches, hydration tips).
  7. Maintain a calm, soothing, and professional behaviour, creating a relaxing atmosphere for each client.
  8. Listen to feedback from clients and make adjustments to future treatments to ensure their satisfaction.
  9. Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in all massage areas.
  10. Follow health and safety guidelines to protect both the client and therapist (e.g., sanitizing equipment and linens).
  11. Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and safe to use for each session.
  12. Advise clients on the best products for their specific skin or health needs (e.g., essential oils for relaxation or muscle relief).
  13. Upsell retail products, including oils, lotions, and other wellness items, where appropriate.
  14. Assist with spa promotions and events, contributing to the success of new offerings or seasonal treatments.
  15. Encourage guests to book repeat treatments, explaining the benefits of regular massage therapy for health and relaxation.
  16. Maintain a strong relationship with clients to build a loyal customer base.
  17. Ensure clients are aware of spa policies, including cancellation policies, health and safety protocols, and etiquette.
  18. Adhere to health and safety guidelines and assist in maintaining a safe environment for staff and clients.

Position Requirements:

  1. Certification or Diploma in Massage Therapy, Beauty Therapy, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience (minimum 2-3 years) working as a massage therapist with a focus on body massage techniques.
  3. Strong knowledge of various massage techniques and beauty treatments.
  4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain treatments and provide aftercare advice.
  5. Ability to assess and understand the client’s needs and adjust treatments accordingly.
  6. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
  7. A passion for wellness, relaxation, and customer service.
  8. Knowledge of health and safety protocols.
  9. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
