Job Description

Key Responsibilities of the Spa & Recreation Receptionist:

  1. Providing prompt, efficient and courteous service in Viking Club.
  2. Reports directly to and communicates with the Administrative Assistant regarding all pertinent matters affecting daily operations.
  3. Greet guests according to standards stipulated under current Policy & Procedure, ensuring a warm and friendly welcome to members and guests.
  4. Explain clearly the information about Viking Club’s facilities and other details such as membership information.
  5. Handle member and guest complaints courteously; if unable to resolve, refer to Supervisor/Manager immediately.
  6. Complete daily opening procedures and checking lists per relevant area.
  7. In charge of billing procedures (daily entry fees, classes, and lockers).
  8. Responsible for daily end report and reconciliation.
  9. Follow up on store requisitions and purchase requests as requested by the Admin Assistant.
  10. Handle telephone inquiries and courtesy manners as per company policy.

Security, Health, and Safety

  1. Be fully conversant with the hotel’s credit policy.
  2. Inform Executive Housekeeper regarding lost and found objects.
  3. Liaise with Security in the investigation of thefts, accidents, and irregularities.
  4. Ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported and removed immediately.
  5. Fully understand the hotel’s fire, emergency, and bomb procedures.
  6. Ensure that emergency procedures are enforced to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees.
  7. Support a safe hotel by applying hotel regulations and adhering to existing laws and regulations.
  8. Anticipate possible and probable hazards and conditions and take action to prevent them from happening.

Miscellaneous

  1. Responsible Business: Show involvement and interest in environmental and/or social issues by participating in Responsible Business hotel and departmental activities.
  2. Attend meetings and training required by the Director of Recreation.
  3. Accept a flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to hotel guests.
  4. Continuously seek to improve the Viking Club’s efficient operation and knowledge of own job function.
  5. Stay updated on hotel fire, bomb, and emergency procedures, health and safety policies, hotel facilities, and nearby sights of interest.
  6. Be informed about short and long-term hotel as well as corporate marketing and promotional programs, corporate clients, and clients generating high business volume.
  7. Understand union agreements.
