Job Purpose

The Process Optimization Solution Architect is responsible for architecting process optimization business solutions (including APC, RTO, Process Simulation, etc.), supporting their implementation for the production of Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals and other domains, and integrating 3rd party systems. The role includes owning business outcomes and the implementation strategy while supporting the YMA Digital Enterprise Solutions Business Unit in developing differentiation in a high-growth environment, with a primary focus on the UAE. The candidate may also extend into a focused Business Development role globally as a secondary task for portfolio growth.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Develop solutions that resolve process problems and grow the business using technologies such as APC, RTO, Process Simulation, and AI/ML.
• Manage the process optimization solution portfolio and provide expert estimation of technical effort for complex solutions.
• Identify customer problems and design appropriate solutions based on the identified needs.
• Define functional requirements through client interviews, documentation analysis, and workflow process mapping.
• Convince customers of proposed solutions via discussions, feasibility studies, benefit estimation studies, and PoC/PoV.
• Execute feasibility studies, benefit estimation studies, and PoC/PoV activities.
• Define success metrics for proposed solutions and design solution architectures and detailed specifications.
• Develop and evaluate proposed activities; lead the project delivery team in PoC/PoV activities.
• Provide Sure Service support to clients under contract and assist with new customer approaches with sales based on market analysis and demand.
• Engage with existing customers via consultative reviews of current operations and solutions, initiating opportunity sales.
• Design sales promotion materials (demonstrations, presentations, success stories) and deliver solutions demonstrations and presentations.
• Oversee day-to-day management of assigned workstreams, ensuring timely and quality deliverables to develop COE capability and applying best practice approaches.
• Contribute to solutions training for Yokogawa salespeople and engineers by developing and delivering training programs.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or minimum 8 years of industry experience in software development, engineering, or sales.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience designing or implementing process optimization solutions such as APC, RTO, or automated decision-making systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on solution development.
• Willing and able to travel throughout the YMA region; business trips to other areas (global) may be expected.

Skills

• Experience in Process Control, Advanced Process Control, Realtime Optimization, Process Simulation, Historian applications (OSI PI a plus), Visualization, Automated decision control, Scheduling
• Knowledge of software analysis, design, methodology, and architecture
• Knowledge of latest market trends and IIoT integration concepts
• Knowledge of analytics programming languages (e.g., Matlab, Python) is advantageous
• Knowledge or experience of AI for process control is advantageous
• Knowledge or experience of SiRi Assessment or similar certification is advantageous
