Solar Energy Technician

The Solar Energy Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar systems across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. This hands-on role involves working on rooftops or open-field installations, ensuring system efficiency, safety, and compliance with UAE energy regulations and sustainability initiatives. The technician will work closely with engineers and project managers to deliver reliable renewable energy solutions in line with the UAE's clean energy vision.

Responsibilities:

1. Installing solar panels, inverters, and mounting systems according to engineering drawings and manufacturer specifications.
2. Conducting inspections and preventive maintenance of PV systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
3. Troubleshooting and repairing faults in solar energy systems, including electrical and mechanical components.
4. Measuring system performance and documenting data using diagnostic tools and software.
5. Assisting in the configuration and testing of monitoring systems and communication devices.
6. Ensuring all work is performed in compliance with DEWA/ADWEA guidelines and local safety standards.
7. Coordinating with project teams to meet installation timelines and quality benchmarks.
8. Maintaining tools, equipment, and proper documentation for all maintenance and service activities.

Requirements:

1. Diploma or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
2. 2-3 years of hands-on experience with solar PV installation, commissioning, or maintenance in the UAE or GCC.
3. Knowledge of solar system components including inverters, batteries, charge controllers, and mounting structures.
4. Familiarity with local electrical codes, health and safety regulations, and utility interconnection standards (e.g., DEWA/NOC requirements).
5. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in electrical and mechanical systems.
6. Basic understanding of solar monitoring platforms and diagnostic software.
7. Ability to work at heights, in outdoor environments, and under varying weather conditions.
8. Valid UAE driving license and willingness to travel to project sites.
9. Fluency in English is required; Arabic is a plus.
