Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an experienced engineering leader to drive technical depth, product thinking, and people leadership. You will shape digital strategy, build scalable platforms, and partner with product, design, and business teams to unlock revenue opportunities.

You will guide architecture, modern technology adoption, and agile delivery across onshore and offshore teams, with a strong emphasis on cloud, APIs, and MACH architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years leading software engineering teams, including distributed/offshore teams.
• Experience in product-led organisations and agile delivery environments.
• Strong knowledge of modern architecture patterns, including microservices and API-first design.
• Hands-on with cloud platforms, ideally Google Cloud Platform.
• Technical exposure to Node.js, React.js, React Native, Next.js, and mobile development.
• Experience with MACH architecture principles.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, source control, and software delivery lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
• Experience in digital products, e-commerce, marketplace, automotive, property, or consumer-facing platforms would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across onshore and offshore locations.
• Partner with Product Managers, Designers, Marketing, and business stakeholders to deliver digital products.
• Drive software engineering excellence, governance, coding standards, and best practices.
• Evaluate and introduce modern technology solutions, frameworks, and tools.
• Champion AI-assisted development practices and productivity-enhancing technologies.
• Oversee architecture decisions, API strategy, microservices design, and cloud deployments.
• Manage technical roadmaps, engineering KPIs, delivery performance, and resource planning.
• Reduce technical debt and improve platform scalability, stability, and performance.
• Conduct technology assessments, proof of concepts, and vendor evaluations.
• Support business stakeholders through workshops, demonstrations, requirement gathering, and solution design activities.
• Drive agile delivery practices and continuous improvement across engineering teams.
