Software Engineer

Job Description
United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is one of the leading academic institutions in the UAE and the region, known for its excellence in teaching, research, and innovation. As part of our ongoing commitment to organizational efficiency, we are seeking a Software Engineer with expertise in AI to develop and implement intelligent solutions that enhance operational efficiency. The Software Engineer will work alongside Process Analysts and Data Engineers to design and develop AI-driven applications that streamline workflows, improve decision-making, and automate complex processes. The ideal candidate will have strong software development skills, experience in AI/ML, and a passion for building scalable and efficient systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and deploy software solutions to automate and optimize various university processes.
2. Implement AI-driven solutions for process automation, predictive analytics, and intelligent decision-making.
3. Work with Process Analysts to translate workflow designs into functional software applications.
4. Collaborate with Data Engineers to integrate AI models with data pipelines and business intelligence tools.
5. Develop APIs and microservices for seamless integration with existing university systems.
6. Ensure scalability, security, and efficiency of deployed applications.
7. Optimize algorithms and software architecture to improve performance.
8. Maintain and document software development processes, best practices, and technical guidelines.

Minimum Qualification

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, or a related field.
2. Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or C++.
3. Experience with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn).
4. Proficiency in full-stack development (Django, Flask, React, Node.js, or similar).
5. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
6. Knowledge of database management (SQL, NoSQL) and API development.
7. Familiarity with AI-driven automation tools (RPA, NLP, Chatbots).
8. Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualification

Preferred Qualifications:

1. 2+ years of experience in software engineering, AI application development, or automation.
2. Experience in AI-based process optimization, workflow automation, or intelligent decision systems.
3. Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
4. Experience in integrating AI models with enterprise software solutions.
5. Understanding of process mining and business process management (BPM) tools.
