Job summary

SBS is offering a 6-month Software Development and Testing Intern position in Dubai, UAE. The internship targets current Bachelor’s or Master’s students aiming to build experience in software development, software testing, and technology delivery.

You’ll work under experienced mentors, participate in Agile ceremonies, and may earn future opportunities based on performance. Location is Dubai with on-site or hybrid work arrangements.

Responsibilities

Job description

This is more than an internship. It's a chance to build, grow, and gain hands-on experience in a global fintech environment.

Join our team as our new Software Development / Testing Intern. This 6-month internship is designed for current Bachelor's or Master's students who are interested in building a career in software development, software testing, or technology delivery.

As an intern, you will work under the guidance of experienced team members and gain exposure to real project activities, including requirements review, development support, testing, defect reporting, documentation, Agile delivery, and release support. Based on your aptitude, performance, and business needs, you may be considered for future opportunities within SBS.

• Location: Dubai, UAE
• Work Arrangement: On-site or Hybrid, based on business needs
• Learn and contribute to software development, software testing, and delivery activities under the guidance of senior team members.
• Support requirement understanding, technical documentation, development support, and validation activities.
• Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining secure, reliable, and scalable application workflows.
• Prepare and execute test cases, document observations, and report defects.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, product owners, and domain stakeholders in day-to-day project activities.
• Support quality, performance, reliability, and security checks as part of project delivery.
• Gain exposure to Agile ceremonies, documentation, release support, knowledge-sharing sessions, and continuous learning activities.
• Learn and apply basic software development lifecycle, testing, and DevOps concepts.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, or currently pursuing a Master's degree in the same fields.

Candidates who are currently not in college AND already graduated are not eligible and NEED NOT APPLY.

• Strong programming fundamentals with a willingness to learn software development and testing practices.
• Good analytical ability, problem-solving skills, and logical reasoning.
• Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle, APIs, databases, and testing concepts.
• Basic knowledge of SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL is preferred.
• Exposure to manual testing, automation basics, or unit testing concepts is a plus.
• Awareness of coding standards, secure coding basics, and documentation practices.
• Basic exposure to Git, CI/CD, or DevOps workflows is preferred.
• Good communication skills, positive attitude, learning mindset, and ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest in banking, payments, or financial technology domains.
• Exposure to Docker or cloud concepts.
• API testing or automation exposure.
• Awareness of Agile methodology.
• Academic projects, internships, or coding practice experience.
• Hands-on understanding of AI and LLMs, with the ability to apply them effectively in daily tasks and workflows.

Stipend - AED 5000 per month.
