Job summary

Saba IP in the United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced IP lawyer to provide expert legal support to clients on intellectual property matters, including trademark, licensing, and enforcement.

You will draft and review IP contracts, manage oppositions/hearings, perform clearance searches, prepare client reports, and coordinate with external lawyers and UAE notaries. Fluency in English is required; Arabic would be a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the legal field, preferably IP.
• UAE resident with right to work.
• LL.B. or equivalent law degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with queries related to IP matters.
• Manage trademark opposition and counterstatement cases, including advisory, defense, and hearings.
• Prepare daily correspondence and reports for clients.
• Provide translation services for documents as needed.
• Conduct trademark clearance work, including searches and draft reports.
• Coordinate with external lawyers for litigation and court cases.
• Manage UAE notary public office tasks.
• Draft and review IP-related contracts (licensing, franchising, assignment, JV).
• Prepare annual audit reports for clients on legal matters.

Manages trademark opposition and counterstatement cases, including legal assessment, client advisory, claim/defense preparation, and representation at hearings

Prepares daily correspondence and reports for clients

Provides translation services for documents as needed

Conducts trademark clearance work, including common law searches, draft clearance reports, and client advisories

Coordinates with external lawyers to handle litigation and court cases, ensuring appropriate follow-up

Manages tasks with UAE notary public offices efficiently

Drafts and reviews various intellectual property-related contracts, such as licensing, franchising, assignment, and joint ventures

Prepares annual audit reports for clients regarding legal matters handled by the company
