Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively as part of the wider Pastoral team.
- Communicate effectively at all levels.
- Develop positive relationships with all members of the school community.
- Coordinate with colleagues professionally and work flexibly.
- Support student development through collaboration with curriculum support staff.
- Assess students' needs, causes, and impacts of difficulties.
- Collaborate with students, parents, teachers, staff, and the community to support students' social, emotional, and mental health.
- Assist students in enhancing emotional and behavioral skills to succeed academically.
- Provide support services within the school setting.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with legal data protection requirements.
- Prevent bullying and support victims.
- Keep accurate attendance records, follow up on absences, and generate reports.
- Communicate with families about attendance concerns and support attendance initiatives.
- Work with the School Counsellor to promote students' personal and academic growth.
- Identify and support students facing family issues like domestic abuse.
- Assist in Child Protection/Safeguarding cases alongside senior staff.
- Follow the school's Behaviour Policy, act as a positive role model, and promote good behavior.
- Support school events, outings, and activities, including outside school hours.
- Communicate with parents regarding behavior and well-being using school systems.
- Contribute to the school's wider life and ethos.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Social Services, Psychology, Counselling, Youth Development, Sociology, or related field with four years of relevant experience.
- Social Worker License from the Department of Community Development (DCD).
Minimum Experience
- At least 2 years of experience in youth-related social work.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with students and parents.
- Desire to help others and inspire trust and respect.
- High energy levels to handle diverse matters.
- Knowledge of UAE Ministry of Education and ADEK regulations.
- Commitment to the school's Vision and Mission.
- Ability to work under pressure, problem-solve, and remain resilient.
- Willingness to pursue ongoing professional development.
