Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect in the UAE to lead cloud strategy for Commercial Sector Greenfield customers across Financial Services, Retail, Travel & Hospitality, and Media.

You will design architectures, run first workloads, and partner with customers to drive business outcomes using AWS AI/ML services, with mentorship to the team and strong customer collaboration.

Qualifications

• 8 years of specific technology domain areas experience.
• 3 years of design implementation or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
• Experience architecting or deploying cloud/virtualization solutions including migrations from on-premises or other cloud platforms.
• Experience building business and technical cases for cloud adoption with customers who have limited or no prior cloud footprint.
• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences including executive-level stakeholders or clients.
• 5 years of infrastructure architecture database architecture and networking experience.
• Experience working with end user or developer communities.
• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
• Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS.

Responsibilities

• Engaging net-new customers to understand their business drivers for cloud adoption and architect a credible path to AWS.
• Building the technical case for AWS including cost analyses and migration strategies.
• Building hands-on: prototypes, proofs of concept, and reference architectures; lead by doing.
• Helping customers envision and build with generative AI and machine learning as a catalyst for AWS adoption.
• Partnering with Account Managers to shape go-to-market strategy for new accounts and convert pipeline into adoption.
• Serving as the customer advocate inside AWS and shaping the roadmap for services and features.
• Creating and sharing technical content such as workshops, code samples, and public talks.
• Mentoring fellow Solutions Architects to grow the team.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to join our Commercial Sector Greenfield team in the UAE. You will work with customers in Financial Services Retail Travel & Hospitality and Media who are at the earliest stages of their cloud journey organizations that have yet to adopt AWS at scale where everything is still to be built and the opportunity to shape their foundational cloud strategy from day one is real.

This is a builder role. You will earn a seat at the table with customers who may have no prior AWS relationship understand the business problems that justify a move to the cloud and design the architecture that turns intent into a running first workload. You will bring deep expertise across cloud infrastructure modern application development data and analytics and increasingly generative AI and machine learning. But technical depth alone isnt enough you will partner with customers to define their cloud strategy in the context of business outcomes helping them accelerating time-to-market unlocking new revenue streams improving operational efficiency and building the digital foundation for transformation. You will earn trust by demonstrating technical credibility and delivering tangible outcomes that move the business forward.

Key job responsibilities

• Engaging net-new customers to understand their business drivers for cloud adoption assess their existing on-premises or multi-cloud landscape and architect a credible path to AWS from landing zone design through first production workload and beyond.
• Building the technical case for AWS: competitive differentiators total cost of ownership analyses migration strategies and proof-of-value engagements that turn skeptics into advocates.
• Building hands-on: prototypes proofs of concept migration runbooks landing zone blueprints and production-ready reference architectures. You lead by doing not just advising.
• Helping customers envision and build with generative AI and machine learning often as the catalyst that makes AWS the platform of choice by demonstrating whats uniquely possible with AWS AI/ML services.
• Partnering closely with Account Managers and Business Development to shape the go-to-market strategy for new accounts you are the technical credibility that converts pipeline into adoption.
• Acting as the customers technical advocate inside AWS translating field insights from the greenfield frontier into clear prioritized feedback that shapes the roadmap for AWS services and features.
• Creating and sharing technical content that scales your impact: workshops immersion days blog posts code samples reference architectures and public talks at meetups user groups and conferences.
• You make the team stronger by mentoring fellow Solutions Architects sharing what you know and helping others grow.

A day in the life

No two days look the same. You might spend the morning in a first-ever technical workshop with a financial services customer exploring whether to lift-and-shift their core banking platform or re-architect on AWS then pivot to a hands-on proof of concept helping a retail customer experience Amazon Bedrock for the first the afternoon you might build a landing zone design for a customer that just signed their Enterprise Agreement draft a migration playbook for a hospitality company moving off a competitor cloud or join a call with an AWS service team to advocate for a feature that would unblock a key deal. You balance depth with breadth strategic thinking with hands-on execution and the patience required to build trust from zero with the urgency of a team that moves fast.
