This is a Senior Leadership strategic role requiring well-developed complex negotiation skills and established relationships with major insurance companies in the region. (must have requirements)

The Director Payer Relations is responsible for leading the strategic management of relationships with insurance companies, government payers, and corporate clients. The role focuses on negotiating contracts, optimizing reimbursement models, and ensuring compliance with payer agreements to maximize revenue and operational efficiency across the group.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key insurance providers, government payers, and corporate clients.
  2. Act as the primary liaison for all payer-related matters, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of issues.
  3. Negotiate favorable contract terms, payment structures, and reimbursement rates to enhance financial performance.
  4. Lead contract negotiations, focusing on pricing, payment models, and service coverage agreements.
  5. Develop and implement value-based care agreements and alternative reimbursement strategies.
  6. Monitor contract compliance, track performance against key contractual metrics, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  7. Analyze payer mix, reimbursement trends, and payment cycles to optimize revenue opportunities.
  8. Collaborate with RCM and Finance teams to address payment delays, reduce revenue leakage, and enhance collections.
  9. Develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with denied claims and underpayments.
  10. Work closely with Strategy, Finance, RCM, Operations, and Clinical teams to align payer strategies with overall business objectives.
  11. Provide data-driven insights and reports on payer performance, contract effectiveness, and revenue impact.
  12. Stay updated on market trends, competitor agreements, and regulatory changes impacting payer relationships and reimbursement models.

Key Requirements :

  1. This is a Senior Leadership strategic role requiring well-developed complex negotiation skills and established relationships with major insurance companies in the region (must have requirements)
  2. Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Management or related field
  3. 12+ years of progressive experience in payer relations, insurance contracting, or revenue cycle management within the healthcare sector.
  4. 5+ years in a leadership role, with proven experience in leading high-stakes negotiations and managing payer relationships at an enterprise level
  5. Strong understanding of healthcare payer systems, reimbursement models, and contract frameworks
  6. Exceptional negotiation and communication skills with a strategic mindset
  7. Ability to analyze complex data and translate it into actionable strategies
  8. Excellent stakeholder management skills across internal and external networks
  9. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and payer trends
  10. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  11. Sound knowledge of UAE insurance and healthcare regulatory landscape
